Great App! Minor Fixes

The New Topher

I first came across the Avia Stride fitness bracelet in a local store that sells fitness accessories. Being a poor college student, I was able to afford the bracelet compared to some other high end fitness bracelets (FitBit) and hope that it would help me on my quest to get into better shape. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this app. It was a brand I never heard of and wasn't a wallet-killer, so it must be sub-par. However, I was definitely mistaken. The app runs great, very fluid interactions and switches between screens and it has an easy to use set up. The Foodgenius portion lets you log your meals/snacks/etc by scanning your food item's barcode, by typing it in, or even by taking a picture of the item and letting it figure out what it is. After meals are logged, it helps you keep track of your caloric intake. The app and bracelet also keep track of your activity, how many steps you take/miles you walk and even lets you schedule runs in your calendar. Further more, it breaks down the calories you burn and tells you how you burned them. It also tracks your sleep and helps you understand better ways to get sleep and how often you are awake at night. The thing I like most, which is important to me personally is the ability to set goals. So if you have a weight goal, a caloric intake goal, step goal or even a sleep amount goal, you can set it and it helps push you to achieve it. The only reason I give this app 4 stars is just due to some minor fixes I think it could use. A couple times, logging a meal did not work and it wouldn't add the calories or other nutrition info to my food tracker. This has only happened a couple times, but still a little annoying. Another thing is that if you have the bracelet and you reach a goal, it will randomly keep vibrating to let you know you've reached your goal until the next day starts , even if you have already looked at the notification. Again, just more annoying than anything. With some minor fixes and some more advertising and getting the name out there, this app and fitness bracelet could compete with the best of them.

Poor

Nirmus

Very poor... Tried to install it. Keep on saying Avia network not available.

Worthless if network is not available

Ozrock77

App is crap without a network to be able to utilize.

"Network not available"

JoseOrtega17

I have barely got my Avia, I downloaded the app. All it says is "network not available", but I have wifi at our household and I thought, "maybe it was my wifi". I turned my wifi off and used LTE and of course "network not available". Considering returning my Avia -- due to the app.

App malfunctions

no more email stress!

I downloaded the app and now it won't let me sign up. It keeps saying "Network Not Available". I'm hooked to wifi, my phone is compatible.

Reliable, comfortable and helpful

I've used this device/app for about a month and I really like it. Syncs every time, app has user friendly and attractive interface for the app. Seems pretty accurate and wears comfortably. I also like the charging system.

Major Disappointment

Customer91

App won't sync after firmware upgrade and customer service number goes to voicemail!

Fix this app please

I just got my Avia and I love it! The first 3 times it synced my activity instantly! But then it asked me to update it and I did, after that the app would close out it and it wouldn't sync. Now my Avia thinks the date is January 1st. HELP

Won't sync

VirtualTypist

The first time that i used the device it synced but as soon as i updated the firmware it reset to january 1st and the app won't read the device. I didn't even get to use it. Please fix it. I feel this was a total waste of money unless it syncs with the device.

Annoying and glitchy

You can't turn off the message/call notification and the tracker buzzes for literally every message you receive. I understand some users may like this feature but for the people who don't you have no other choice but to have your wrist buzzing all day which is very distracting when working out. The calorie and mile count is also way off. By about 20-30units for calories and 1mi for distances. I think this is because there's no heart rate monitor in the tracker/app and most of the data comes from your phone. Other fitness trackers are much more accurate. I'd return this if I could. Anyone looking to use this and buy the tracker look elsewhere
