Ok I understand the point of having to pay for a book and stuff like that. I’m trying to get a to Kill a Mockingbird audiobook because when it comes to reading, I get distracted easily. But $22 for listening to something read a book?!? You are out of your mind!!

There are a couple very basic things this app doesn’t do: When typing to search for a title, etc. there is no cursor/bar to show you where you’re typing. And when you open the app, it defaults to book titles, instead of “my library,” which seems to be the logical screen to default to. Also it pauses when you go to do things like Google, when there is no reason to pause. And when you search for a book that isn’t available, you just get a plain white screen, as opposed to a message. The membership is less, but I prefer Audible.

This the worst club i've ever joined. Last Mo I signed in for free trial, and couldn't get to the audio books I could never pull any up. So I forgot about it until $19.99 was taken from my acct. I called CS the girl was very rude, I asked for a manager. She told she would submit a request for a refund. Now 2wks later still no $. I called back and was told they denied my refund. I ask for manager again this time they said I download a book call the holy war. I advised her did no such thing. The only reading I do is my Bible but I do listen to books on audio. Mgr, said she would request again to billing department, I asked to speak to someone there, I was told this is an online book club. They don't have a department where there is actual people to talk to. So this is why I'm writing this review. If I could I would highlight just a tip of the star.
Overpriced, discriminates against in-app purchcases, and poor customer service

I downloaded a book from audiobooksnow thinking I would get the new member discount advertised when I signed up with this outfit. Instead, they charged me full price. When I complained, they explained that, had I purchased the book on the web and then downloaded it to my phone it would have received the 50% discount, but because I purchased it through the app I paid full price. The reason? Apple charges them for in-app purchases. I cancelled my membership and now the book that I PURCHASED is gone. Stick with the reputable companies selling audio books!

I love listening to audio books and this company has a large selection, but the app is very basic, quite buggy and not user-friendly. Tech support was friendly and quick, but they can't fix the software. I'll stick with the app because of their books, but I hope they'll put more effort into the app.
Need Internet access to work

I got this because I only occasionally need to get an audio book. I didn't want a subscription model. I just downloaded a book at home before leaving for a trip through eastern Oregon and Nevada, where there is scant cell coverage, so no Internet. If I stopped the app for any reason, I needed to have Internet access to get to the library where the info for the book was stored. As a result, I went without my downloaded book for periods of time. The book itself played fine once the library was accessed...no need for Internet. Not particularly useful in a world where Internet coverage isn't universal. Update: see developer response below. The app is fine... will try it again on another trip. If it works without Internet, it's exactly what I wanted!
