The listening technology analyzes each note as you play an activity or song. The App pauses when a note’s pitch is played incorrectly or the note is played for too short of a duration. The App shows the note that was played, and waits for you to play the correct note.

Choose to play any of the 250+ songs from our music library. Use familiar finger charts and the listening technology to learn your favorite songs. At the end of each song you are presented with a proficiency score showing how many notes were played correctly. The Stats display presents a list of all the songs you have played, and how many of the notes you were able to play. Cumulative statistics are always available on the Stats page and shared in Game Center.

With the help of your instructor, Mr. Noteworthy, you will start learning about music, the recorder and how to play it. You are joined by your customized avatar classmate. Together you will learn, play and have fun as you begin your journey into music. All songs are arranged to play the melody. The Transposition feature lets you shift the pitch of a song’s notes up or down allowing you to customize the range of a song.

Learn at your own pace. With the ability to pause and navigate through the scene, you will be able to get a new perspective on learning. The History feature keeps track of the scores for all the performances of each song.

This lesson was developed to have fun while learning the fundamentals. You will learn:

The Recorder parts, inside and out

Great app for introducing children to a musical instrument

This app is a great resource for teaching a young child the fundamentals of learning to play the recorder. It uses a cute animated teacher and interactive games to engage the student and encourage them to learn while having fun.

Fundamentally Fantastic!
Elyk Nosaj

As a father with no musical skills, my kids were tasked with learning the recorder. Where do I start? Ive been researching some applications to help me help my kids and have been waiting for this app to be released… But not only for my kids! In this initial release, its super easy for my young'uns to follow along with the fun animations and easy to follow instructions on learning the basics, and hey, I'm even learning how to play the recorder to help them along. But! I'm also excited about where this app is going in the future! I understand that this app will also be able to help me learn guitar. If you've ever priced music lessons… $3.99 is a steal… I almost feel guilty. Definitely recommend this app to both the young and old.

Educational, Engaging & Fun!
Social Savvy Mom

As the homeschool to mother to 4 boys ages 5, 7, 9 and 11, I found this app to be a wonderful resource in teaching our boys to play the recorder. It is very obvious that much time, energy & talent was put into this app. The AtPlayMusic app kept our boys interested and wanting to move on to the next lesson. Our family is very musical, my husband, is a professional Jazz percussionist and all of our boys play instruments. We would not normally turn to an app to learn to play an instrument but I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised. This is the perfect app for beginners and a wonderful tool to increase a child’s musical confidence. Not to mention, this app is easy on the wallet at a price point of just $3.99.

This is a wonderful app for all young ages to learn the fundamentals of the recorder. With the help of Mr. noteworthy, he teaches you all the basic to learn, with fun games and puzzles along the way. My 2 year old will peer over her big sisters shoulder while using this app. Very fun, entertaining and educational. It's fun while being a learning tool, which any parent will love! All children will eventually learn to play the recorder and this will give them a fun boost. Great price of $3.99 for a great app!

Could be good
Vancebo1

App looks like it could be a winner but when I tried to update it it has not worked and is frozen.

Crashing
h1web

Crashing at the end of lesson 2 when asking you to try ode to joy, also cashes when selecting unlocked songs from the song list. I wish i could continue because this is a fantistic app for learning the recorder for my younger brothers. Please fix.

Great app to use in the classroom
Piccolopenni

I love this app. I really like the games and the visual pictures have helped my students learn to tongue. The story is cute and my fourth graders really enjoy the app. I wish there were more games like a note reader or others that an entire class could do but this app is a great addition to my musical bag of tricks. A happy music teacher

I’m 9 and this is the best recorder app EVER!!!!!!!!! Because it lets me create an avatar and it has fun songs. You can look at a 3-D view of what the avatar is doing. My dad likes the feedback that you get when playing. It encourages you to keep going.
