I like it

Somersfun

I like it. Fun and somewhat realistic.

I like it, but....

MoviemikeIT

Only problem is the letters that give detail aircraft speed altitude etc information are too small. Need access to more info. On aircraft landing speed and best speed for climbing.

Great game

Bird 787

Lots of fun. Easy to figure out

Great app

nomagination

Fun app. Wish it would let you crash the planes into each other.

Great Sim

This app reminds me of a game from long ago called Kennedy Approach. If you want to closely simulate being an Air Traffic Controller, this game does it. Very easy to learn and get started.

Not for the serious ATC aficionado

If you don't know much about air traffic control procedures, this might be a entertaining app, the sparse and error prone instructions notwithstanding. Arriving aircraft: Commercial jet aircraft do not enter approach space, which I assume this is, though there is no TCA outlined—normal for these larger airports, at speeds as low as 150K. Those are dangerously low and used on short final only. Usually 250k is standard at this altitude. The app does not make it clear what makes a successful approach, but the constant changing of direction to intercept the final approach fix is an anomaly. Radar vectors are normally given by ATC to intercept the localizer at an approximately 45 degree angle, never to a fix. If a fix was needed, the pilot would have dialed in a direct-to fix on their FMS, and the airplane's autopilot would have flown it for them. Once an aircraft is locked onto the localizer, it is up to the pilot to get the aircraft to the runway, not ATC. Besides, approach control would have turned the flight over to tower long before this. All that said, most airports of these sizes would have a STAR, or standard approach procedure. Vectors are only given to override the STAR for the purposes of expediency and fuel savings, providing flow control will allow the deviation. Departing aircraft: The tower would control the initial stage, then it over to departure control. Then then pilot would have plugged in a SID, or standard departure procedure, complete with the fixes. The aircraft's auto pilot would take the aircraft to the transitional fix, often using preset altitudes. Yes, they could receive vectors, but at some point they are "cleared direct to____ as filed." If it were more realistic, this could be a fun app.

Loving This Game

swswartz

I also play flight control & I always used to wish there was something more realistic. While APP Control may not be perfectly realistic I have been loving the use of heading, speed, etc. giving it the feel of more realism. Love that you hear the read back of your instructions & that you have to pay close attention to altitude, heading, speed, and watch the planes go all the way to their destination. I have been having a ball playing this game!!!

Fun game

mutacan

Quite a lot of fun, but the lite version gets boring after a while because there are only 2 airports and not a lot of variation in conditions. There is an ATC sim online that is much better than this and is also free.

Great App!

DanB516

Sort of gives you a peek into the life of an ATC. You get really engrossed and before you know it you have handled 25 planes successfully (or not)!

Good app

Playable demo. Fun.
