Critical Bug

Adam Schindler

Cool idea but there's a critical bug that cost me dearly. The apple watch app causes the iPhone app to revert to the unlocked version at random times. I started two separate audio talks I was giving with the watch and the unlocked app. I had hooked up the brand new MicClip Digital from Sennheiser and started the recording with my watch, but when I was done the app had stopped after 60sec and told me to upgrade. Hope this gets fixed because it makes the Apple Watch app a major liability. If you're counting on reliable audio in the field DONT USE YOUR WATCH!!

Bug. Needs a fix

jakewolf

I agree with the other reviewers. There is a critical bug that removes the purchase and stops recording after 1 minute. App has been out since May. No excuse for not fixing it. Wish I hadn't bought the upgrade. Glad I don't own one of the external Mocs this is supposed to work with.

Big Bad Bug

BobYourUncle

If using the Sennheiser ClipMic with this app, it works flawlessly, when it wants to. Sometimes the app imposes the 60 second "free" limit and your audio stops recording. Sometimes it works fine. This is a huge bug and I'm downright shocked that it hasn't been fixed yet. 9/14: I contacted Apogee tech support and they claim a bug fix for the app is coming "soon" and they are aware of the problem. Time will tell....

Works great for me

Rico S

This recording app is designed to work with a specific microphone: the "Apogee Mic". I have tried it with my iPhone 5 and it works just fine and has a very clear intuitive interface. I have quite a few other recording apps on my iPhone and this one is one of my favorites.

Dropbox support doesn't often work

Metal Jesus Rocks

I have a new iPhone 6s with the latest iOS and app updates and 90% of the time I can't upload the audio files from the app to Dropbox. I think it's a wav file size issue... But it's a fantastic recorder but it's a pain to get the files off the phone.

Superior Quality

Knew Approach Productions

I have the apogee mic 24/48 and the iPhone 6 64GB. This great to be used for voice over commercials and field recording and the audio tag/settings are very helpful when getting raw out in the field!!!

Best recording app

Derek TF

Works great on my iPhone 6. Didn't really get the whole metadata thing at first but now I can see where it would be useful with video editing. Had an issue with Dropbox but after this last update it works fine.

Very high quality.

I have to revise my first review. It took a quite a while figuring out how to utilize it with other mobile apps. I'm glad I took the time. It's brilliant!

Great App, buggy Apple Watch interface

frjohnf

I have tried to start a recording with my Apple Watch... I check the input volume, I wait for the timer to start, begin recording... Then when I'm finished the recording: NOTHING! What am I doing wrong? Is the watch app using the mic on the watch and when I put my hand down it automatically shuts off? I have and am using a lapel mic attached to my iPhone - what's happening?
