Great game!!

tristen*0606

I’ve basically binge played this game, which is saying something because I’m not a gamer. I’m really enjoying it! Maybe it’s because I’m playing on my phone so at times the controls are a bit hard or maybe it’s because I’m not much of a gamer, but there are a couple sections where I’m like “gahhh!” I can’t get past the 3 air vents towards the end. I like exploring all the dungeons and most of the time I feel the right amount of challenge. Well worth the time spent. I hope they make another game

Controls constantly get stuck.

Paid $5 for this game and I have to constantly restart it due to the d pad getting stuck in a direction causing me to die and have to restart the game from the last save I had, hoping it wasn’t too far ago. I can’t pass the final boss due to this issue, it has made me lose interest in the game.

Finally!

It was worth the wait to throw my money at this beautiful game!

Best game ever

Love this game!

Decent Start...

I like the idea of the game. It's a fun throwback to the good ole days. However, the control scheme MUST be more forgiving of my thumb slipping out of the designated joystick zone. Either make the virtual joystick area larger, or incorporate a floating joystick so that it can move or be adjusted to the player's preferences, either in the settings or on the fly. Second, all iOS users (at least those of us playing on our phones) have a small-enough screen to work with as it is. PLEASE make proper use of the entire screen by ditching the side panels were the controls currently reside. Transparent controls on top of a full screen of game is much better than cutting off the edges of the screen so the controls can be placed (like on a classic Gameboy, which I can appreciate but not desire on an iOS device). Overall, good first attempt. I would love to see the above issues addressed. Thanks and best of luck!

An absolute must-play indie masterpiece

One minor flaw: the touchscreen controls could use just a bit of tweaking, because they don't feel quite as responsive as I'd like; and because of the game's unusual aspect ratio, it looks its best in portrait mode, so my hands are pretty cramped after three straight hours of gameplay. It's the first release of a port for a game designed for PC, so that's pretty much par for the course. But then, all of that is forgiven by virtue of the fact that I played for three hours straight in the first sitting. I'd have kept going if my hands weren't starting to exhibit signs of carpal tunnel syndrome. Suggestion to the devs: add some support for bluetooth control pads (especially the Caliber Advantage, whenever it comes out). You have my heartfelt gratitude for producing such a wonderful work of art.

Wonderful so far

I bought this purely on the aesthetics in the screenshots, not realizing it was a Zelda-inspired game! The controls are great, although I have been injured by the D-Pad a few times, and killed by it once. Also, as it noted when I booted up, after a while (15 minutes, personally) the controls began to lag a bit, but I'm certain this will be addressed in a future update. One minor thing of note is that it feels as though I should be able to interact with the pause screen without using the side controls. I keep trying to touch all of the buttons out of sheer habit. This IS an iPad after all. XD Oh, new bug. I just switched between this screen and Anodyne while it was paused and all of the controls disappeared except for the 'enter' button. So, uh, yeah you might want to jump on that bug ASAP. I'm a forgiving dude, but others won't be. So yeah, those minor things aside, all of which are very fixable, great job! I'm excited to play the rest of the game. (Played on iPad 4)

Game boy

Remember Zelda for the game boy from back in the day? Such classics like a link to the past, and the legend of Zelda? Well here comes that top down dungeon crawling goodness in Anodyne. I've only played the first hour but it's basically Zelda's little brother for the IOS I hope the game sells well so that the developer will make more.

Frame rate crap on iPhone 4

Dr Never

EVERYTHING about this game is amazing, except the frame rate. It's nearly unplayable on my iPhone 4, which is supposedly supported. Can't wait to play the rest of the game if this issue is addressed. Thanks!

Really good

This game is really good. I love the story and the gameplay. It reminds me of my childhood when I used to play on my gameboy color. My only gripe with this is the controls. I can't get passed the mountain dungeon because the run and jump only work 50% of the time. Also the controls stick a lot causing me to did a lot too. Other than that its an awesome indie game!
