Beautiful Magazine. Nice App

ReviewerOfApps2

This is a good, feature-rich app that does a fine job of reproducing the printed magazine. Easy to read on my standard retina display iPad. The mini will require a bit of zooming. Thanks American Scientist!

I can't get this to work on my iPad

Maybe it works fine in Windows, but not with iOS 7 on an iPad 2. There's just nothing that downloads, and there are no error messages to indicate what's wrong. Sigma Xi needs to give this a rethink.

Great content, lousy interface

PAH548

I had a paper subscription to American Scientist for years. I looked forward to each issue. Then they switched to a digital format and I had to give because the website was just a low resolution pdf, unreadable. Recently I saw that there a mobile app, so I decided to give it a try. Alas, the content is still just images of magazine-sized pages, albeit with better resolution. I have to zoom in by about 500% to read anything on my iPhone. Come on, making text and images readable on a mobile just isn't that hard; even two-bit local news outlets manage it! I'd really like to start reading this one again but at the moment it still isn't ready for prime time.

Crashes after iOS 9

Andy5277

After updating iOS to version 9, the app opens but crashes on any attempt to read any month.

Horrible app, great magazine

Jayedgar

For the umpteenth time i have lost all access in the iphone app, latest version. Uninstall and reinstall and reentry of email and pwd does not help. Viewable ONLY on website using same id and pwd. App hasnt been updated in over a year. Amateurs. Just goes into neverending loop with msg you do not have access to this data.

Still Crashes all the time

Title says it all. Very unstable app

Totally Defective

Qawsedef

App will not even open. I would have expected more from this organization.

Broken again

Early Adopters

V10.1.5 app login won’t work with same user ID as website with iPad running iOS 12.1.5. Content access works fine in Safari via SigmaXi web site. Why bother with an app that rarely works?

Cannot Log In

Triippp

I will add my voice to the chorus of people wondering why a magazine of the stature of American scientist cannot code an app that works. If I cannot even login there is no point to it’s taking up space on my iPad! What have you folks done with the money we give you for our subscriptions.
