"Age of Rivals feels like a breath of fresh air in an App Store drowning in more traditional collectible card games" - 148Apps.com - 5/5 stars

"...there's a depth here that other games of the same length can't emulate" - Pocket Gamer - Silver Award Winner

"Gameplay is fast, very fun, and requires both an overall strategy and turn-by-turn tactics to prevail." - Pocket Tactics

Age of Rivals was inspired by strategy boardgames and designed to be ideal for 1 or 2 players to play in 10 minutes with plenty of depth and replayability. It's the "anti-deckbuilding" CCG, where having only minimal control over your deck encourages endless variety in each game and puts the focus on in-the-moment tactical decision-making.

Frustrating

First, let me say, at first blush this is a fun and difficult drafting game. However, because it is difficult, bugs are all the more painful. I have a pet peeve that will result in an uninstall with me. That is at the end of a hard fought game, the program locking up with no option for save/reload and or continue. A game in which this can happen is a game in which the developer has not valued the time of their customer. Unless your implementation is bulletproof, you need the ability to save state. No save game in progress means, no ability to recover. So despite liking the gameplay, Age of Rivals has been uninstalled.

Home Run!

This game is a blast. It's a truly unique idea executed wonderfully. In fact it is so good, I'm venmo'ing my cousin .99 cents so he can play it also.

Really fun game!

Excellent single or multiplayer card game. Age of Rivals borrows a bit from games like Seven Wonders Duel, but with its own unique spin. You draft cards from three or four choices, which change each turn, as you build your "empire." The key is finding the right balance between culture, war, income and treachery to outmaneuver your opponent. The designers did a great job of giving the game enough complexity to provide an engaging experience without being overwhelming. Tabletop gamers will enjoy it, which is why it's a shame there's no pass-and-play option. For the price this is an absolute steal. My only criticism is that it requires an internet connection to play. Usually, that's a deal-breaker for me, but I'm having so much fun with AoR that I'll give it a pass. If you're on the fence, there's a free version you can try on the web.

Ipad2 fail

On iPad 2 with iOS 9+ can't get past start up screen. No warning in App Store about needing a newer iPad, with the game jaipur it is listed that it will not run on older iPads.

Amazing game, but

The game scratches all the gaming itches I have, card drafting, powers, multiple victory paths, tactical gameplay... but without pass and play, it's almost painfully pointless for my particular case. Please bring pass and play!!

Great mini-Civ

This is a great mini-Civilization card game, well worth playing. I truly appreciate that the developer added offline play. The campaign challenges look interesting - I wouldn't mind seeing this expanded upon.

The best!!

Hands down the best CCG game on IOS! The mechanics are great and there is tremendous replayability with this game. I am telling everyone I know to get this one. ??

Great but TOTALLY luck based at times
Koala404

A great game with some intriguing methods and play style. However in desperate need of balancing, or much faster play through, as there are many combinations of just two cards which can totally destroy the game. Get ready to replay some of the challenges a billion times, because if the enemy gets a particular card on a draw, game over immediately. Probably worth the money, but not a likely award recipient.

Awesome

Love this game!

Very fun

Good take on the current online ccg model. Fun to play daily. It can be somewhat random cause it's all about choosing the right cards for your deck based on your current situation. Definitely worth the price as well. Look forward to future content updates.
