AD Help Desk is 100% secure. All traffic between the domain controller and the iOS device is encrypted.
AD Help Desk strives to give you the ease of ADUC or ADAC and the power of ADSI.
With AD Help Desk you can:
-Create, delete, move or rename ANY object in the directory.
-Edit any non-binary attribute of ANY object in the directory (including exchange attributes).
-Reset passwords or unlock user accounts in seconds.
-Perform administrative tasks across domain boundaries.
-Perform just about any task you might want to perform that involves Active Directory.
AD HelpDesk is aware of any schema extensions that you may have made in your domain. This means that you truly can create or edit ANY object regardless of whether the object type is a custom object, or a stock object type (like user, group, computer, etc).
AD HelpDesk is THE native iPad or iPhone touch interface for Active Directory. Once you start using AD HelpDesk, it will quickly become your preferred way of administering your Active Directory domain.
Configured properly, this handy app makes resetting passwords and unlocking stations a breeze for my boss and I. Works well on both iPhone and iPod Touch. I recommend this app along with RDP and setting up the VPN on your device to make yourself a guerilla IT pro. More success for this app would be to pack a few more features into this app like network scanning for quick inventory and push notifications for recently locked workstations. Thank you!
One of our users account information had been written down on a post it note (Not the smartest thing) and it was stolen along with their laptop. Obviously this is a huge problem on it’s own. But we needed to change the users credentials ASAP, and I found out about this while I was out running. I just whipped out my phone, vpn’d in and locked the user account within about 2 min. Normally I would have had to get back to my car and then drive for another 15-20 min in order to take care of this. This App saved me from having to give up on my workout for the day, and it also may have saved the company a lot of headache. This is only one of several times I have found it useful. I would gladly pay for it 10 times over for the amount of freedom it has given me!
The app works great. It saves me a trip back to my desk... When is there going to be an app with more features written for the iPad? Thanks John!
Works great, and a few of the features I thought wouldn't be useful ended up being my favorites. Finding locked accounts is just one of them. Great app!!
I've been looking for a simple (non-bloated) AD management app for quite a while now. This looks almost exactly like an app that I would have designed myself. It's simple and clean.
Not so impressed. I thought maybe I could move the user to a new container. I guess it works as advertised.
This lets me do simple AD account management without the need to resort to RDP or VNC sessions. Very nice and worth the money.
We use this app in an education environment as our solution for administering Macintosh users bound to AD and it has been a great benefit for teachers and maximizing instructional classroom time.
I'm still new to the Microsoft AD world and have only used this briefly at work over a secure wireless net, but it appears to do what it says. I'm sure there is room for improvements and additional features, but I'm happy. Does what it says. Thanks for creating this.
