Good, but slow to respond

I love acrostics, so I am happy to have found this. The puzzles are fine, but the response to pressure is very slow, which is frustrating. I sometimes have to tap a space repeatedly to be able to enter my answer. And it would be nice to be able to erase an entire word at once, instead of tapping on the letters and delete one by one. I was stunned when the new version suddenly appeared. It took a while to find where I was in the sequence. The new version is more responsive, but the layout is displeasing, and sometimes the keyboard disappears. I guess I'll still give it 4 stars, and I love acrostics so much I'll stick with the app. But please left justify the clues.

I just tried the new version of the Acrostics app and it works great! I didn't experience any of the problems some other solvers have mentioned. If you have any trouble seeing the puzzles just use the zoom function.

This is being updated, and I suggest anyone concerned be patient and notify Egghead Games with your concerns. Not only is this a terrific app with terrifically responsive designers, it is great fun and education combined. My earlier review follows: I too think this is the best app ever. Any time I need fulfilling distraction I go to these inventive, clever puzzles--and then I end up learning something. Thanks to the originators who provide these brilliantly constructed, challenging, and satisfying quotations and clues.

I found this app to be quick, intuitive, and very easy on my aging eyes. The layout is pleasing as well. It's just what I've been hoping for after years of solving on paper!

I freely admit that I'm a puzzle junkie. Acrostics, logic puzzles, cryptograms...I love them all and buy most of them. Of all the puzzle apps I've purchased, those made by Egghead Games are the best. Challenging, beautifully produced, and user friendly, they are the next best thing to having a puzzle and pencil in hand. If you're an addict like me, do yourself a favor and check these guys out. Besides Acrostics, they have Logic puzzles, Quick Logic Puzzles (featuring a new puzzle daily), Cryptograms, and have partnered with Dell to bring us Logic Problems. Kudos to Egghead Games for keeping me well supplied with my fix!

If you love words, you'll love this program. Both the clues and the quotes come from a variety of sources, so you're likely to know at least some of the answers no matter your vocabulary. And, if you should need help, the customer service rep I dealt with was super! I'm almost ready to buy my 6th set of puzzles! Now that it's been updated, everything is larger, making the app even easier to read, a boon for old eyes like mine.

I really like this app. The previous update was horrible, but I appreciate the quick adjustment to rectify the problems. I will definitely continue to play.

This app keeps me coming back again and again! It is more fun to work acrostics on the tablet than on paper because changes are easy to make. Thanks for the info on how to resize the grid and clues -- I had feared they were too small in the new version, but just a few flicks of the hand got the view I needed. ?
