Extremely disappointed

Gramatical Errors

I’m not usually one to write reviews, but it seemed necessary in this situation. This used to be the only weather app that I would use. Most of the time the built-in Apple weather app was inaccurate, and I liked the user interface of this app more anyways. The 2020 overhaul unfortunately ruined that. The new user interface is not at all intuitive, it is now either annoying or almost impossible to reach features that had once been easy to find. The app is also extremely buggy and has crashed my phone multiple times. I tried to open it on my iPad but it can’t get past the introduction screen (none of the “continue” or “skip” options work). I have been waiting for an update to fix these problems, but after many months there has been nothing. Note to Developer: Please do not respond to this review

Updated App is NOT user friendly

Update #2 2/09/21 I love how they respond to my complaints about too much of the information being repeated in too many different formats and graphs over too many pages by telling me there’s yet *another* way they have presented it on yet another page. ? The fonts are too small on the graphs, and the color scheme is terrible for those of us with poor eyesight. Please, just go back to stating highs and lows, and ditch the gawdawful graphs. The rest of the app is still junked up, over too many pages or behind too many clicks trying to dig deeper into the app, making finding the most pertinent information harder than a weather app should ever be. I want to glance at the weather occasionally, not spend thirty mins a day playing with an app. I’ll still be using NOAA, sadly. Update 8/18 Bye bye, Accuweather. I’ve written this review, contacted your team, sent feedback, AND filled out a survey telling you guys how much the newest updates have ruined functionality for me and my family. You had a good long run on the home screen, but you no longer are useable for me. I’ll check back in six months or a year maybe. Maybe not. Just have to see how much I like my next weather app. ————- I have had this on my iPad and iPhone since the first day I ever owned an Apple device, and throughout the years, I’ve found it reliable and easy to use. Until now. Look, I know people resist change. But I’ve stuck with this app throughout every update for YEARS. The new format is just awful. Badly organized & hard to read. It’s got too many sections, making finding the information you’re looking for much, much harder than it needs to be, and I despise the new graphs that are too small to easily read. Plus a lot of the information is repeated in different sections in differing formats. It’s horrid, and I hope they are paying attention to these reviews that are all expressing the same views & either return to the older format or rework the current iteration.

Upgrade promotion is fake

Rabbi Art

Beware of offers to upgrade to premium. The promised features don’t appear and there’s no way to cancel a subscription. I eventually figured out how to get the widget onto my home page by consulting Google. Also learned I could cancel the subscription through my iPhone settings. The app itself was no help in these matters.

Problems

Susie G 1022

So, it tells me about widgets but does not give me enough info to use them. It said to remove from Home Screen and put back on. Did that, no help. So I removed the app from phone and put back on. Had to pay ANOTHER $9 to get it without ads and still no widget. ?‍♀️ 2/9/2021: so I got a notice that I had a response to this review. Can’t find it.

Just weather. No news please.

Deegeep

Tell me the weather only. Dont care about your version of the news. Edit: Stop this already!!

The last app was better!

I guess all good things come to an end.

Very good until updated in late January 2021

I’ve always liked the convenience, detail, and performance of this app, but when I opened it just now, it froze my iPhone SE 2 so hard that I thought it might be “bricked” forever. I’ve put the app into my app “library,” and I don’t plan to even test it again for a few weeks. It’s been a good app, and I wish the developers every success with debugging it, but my phone is too important for me to run any great risk with it. (UPDATE: I was glad to have a reply from the developers, saying that they know of the problem and are working on it.) I’m also not happy to discover that Accuweather uses my location to track me across other company’s apps and websites. I greatly appreciate Apple’s increased transparency around issues of tracking and privacy.

3AM notifications for a storm 12 hours away are NOT necessary

Puplovingquilter

If it were a hurricane or a tornado-something placing us in imminent danger right this minute, I could understand. But a storm that’s been talked about ALL week, no! Be responsible. Don’t awaken us in the middle of the night!

Highly Recommended

Provides great detail! Love the Wintercast with predicted snow fall and updates once they come in to reflect. I find this better and easier than some local weather apps

History Tab does not update.

Tedmet

This is a great app I love how it lets you go out over a month into the future, but the history tab does not update and gets stuck on the first tab that you select. This has been the case for several updates. Please fix!
