If you (the parent) are familiar with Phonics, you will immediately appreciate the way the app teaches phonics.
Letter section: introduces the phonetic sound of each letter and builds the foundation.
Words section: teaches the child how to sound out a word to spell it. It presents words from common word families and says out the phonetic sound of each letter when building the word.
Correct answer would make the word rock to fun music.
Liked the concept for the word spelling but the low sound quality of the phonics makes it unusable. The "N" sound, for example, is not distinguishable as an "N" at all. Upgrade the phonics recordings and it might be worth buying the full version.
I like that the app segments the words for you, but phonics sounds need to be cleaned up a little. Also I would rather just see plain letters instead of letter people with eyes, arms, and legs. I think they are distracting for kids just learning letters.
This app doesn't rock at all. Part of it doesn't show when I open it, like it's supposed to be in landscape orientation. But when I turn my iPad, the screen doesn't flip. I'm deleting this thing!
