1000 Sight Words (Dolch and Fry List)
**********************************************************

* Sight words are a group of very common words that efficient readers recognize instantly and automatically without sounding it out.

* They make up 60% to 70% percent of most reading tasks.

*If a student can learn these words, he or she will be able to read most of what is offered in the early grades.

Features:
---------

1) Sight words, compiled from dolch and fry list and some more.

2) For ease of learning words have been divided into groups of 20 words each.

3) Further the words can be divided into familiar words and practice words groups.

Initially all the words will be in practice group. Once your child becomes familiar with a word, he/she can move it to familiar words group. This would help focusing on the words that still need to be learnt.

4) It also provides a list view of the words for quick review.

5) Maintains upto 3 user profiles

Enjoy!

Nice try but...

Overall, the words were very simple, and the pronunciation was nice. However, it did not always respond to touching and I could not figure out how to get it out of the information box once opened. It crashed quite a bit and I took it off my iPod.

I just downloaded this so I don't have an overall opinion yet but in clicking help, the instructions say to click to "here" the word pronounced. Really?? Try looking up the difference between here and HEAR to see which word is appropriate for use in an educational app.

Good For My Daughter
Kaptain Kyle

I showed this to my 6 year old she got the jist of it pretty quick as we've been doing sight word flash cards. She liked being able to keep track of her score (double tap with right answer) and even showed it to Mommy afterwards. I like the fact that we can review what words were an issue and retry them. I'll most likely be buying the full version if the price is right.

I like it. I thought.

Was there an update? We cannot get it to actually work. The instructions are vague and the cards never actually work. We have touched tapped etc and it will not start. If we are lucky we get one word pronounced wrong then it goes back to the home screen without us touching the screen. Not much help here. The score keeping is kind of pointless these are young children. They'll touch the number just to change it for fun. And it's not a competition so who cares. I will most likely buy the full if for no other reason than it does NOT ask for my location. I have a real problem with that when it is not truly required for the app to run. ESPECIALLY on Children's apps. The competitor app to this wants the location and costs more.

Nice idea, poor UI and buggy
Ransomed

Disappointed, would have bought full one if the app was well-designed as my daughter is learning dolce words now. But UI is confusing at best, no use of SRS or any intelligence to the app to aid in learning. Pronunciations are good, but animations and extra noises seem distracting. I didn't ask my daughter because the multiple bugs disqualified this app for me.

No more company? Web site gone!

Wow what a fun fun app I love it!

Spelling errors
Melmop

There are far too many spelling errors on this app. The first screen says, "thouch" to initialize. It should say touch. On a help screen it says to "here" a word when it should say "hear." No way.

Worst app ever !!
Crazy driver 1

If I could do zero stars I would . This app only has like ten words to study over and over again it gets boing after studying two of them :( I would not recommend this to anyone don't waste you r time

Boring
Onawa K

This didn't interest him in the least. After 5 minutes my 5 year old had exited out of the program and asked for setting different.
