My former, positive review stands; however, I am removing a star because the OCR for physical addresses is so bad. Time and time again the app swaps address parts around and adds city names that aren’t appropriate. Earlier this week a contact I scanned was given four city names, yet the card had only one. I’ve contacted support repeatedly over the last year with no response and no improvement. ———————— ABBYY has a long history in the optical character recognition field and that shows in ABBYY Business Card Reader. The app has excellent text recognition and is one of the easiest of apps in this category to navigate. ABBYY BCR allows you to save an image of the back of the card and you can add a picture of the card’s owner, too. Adding a card is easy: the app detects card edges and snaps the picture automatically. My only major complaint for this app is the four-tabbed detail view. Seeing all the information for a contact can take several taps. Other areas of the app could be tightened up, as well. Some items I'd like to see: - Send vCards by text message, in addition to the existing email message - Format email messages to look nicer (admittedly a minor issue) - Tap to text, in addition to the existing tap to call - Move the view of the back of the card to the same tab as the front - Make "Placement" a setting to enable/disable (and rename it) and allow the user to correct and/or name the location (with the name of the event) - Include the creation date—that, along with the location the card was scanned, gives some indication of the event All in all, though, this is a great app that I use daily.

I volunteer with many groups. I also have a business and friends from different groups. This app is the only way I can keep all my contacts in one place but divided among the various groups where I know them! Of all the apps I've ever owned, this has to be my all time favorite! I love the fact that every few months I can go in and back everything up. This also makes life so easy when I upgrade my cell phone and need to move my contacts over!

It works really good. The multiple business card search options is what I like best. The automatic recognition works well enough.
