Tutorial locks up...

Wheelsboy93

Might be good. Can't tell since the tutorial keeps locking up the game in the same place over and over...

Great game, must buy for fans if the board game. I would give it 5 stars except some of the empire special abilities do not work. Very disappointing because it breaks some of the game balance. Also the AI does some silly things like alternate attacks between two regions. This negates the bonus the attacker gains for losing. But overall minor flaws.

Need more board games for the iPad.

I loved this game before we had iPads and love it now on the iPad. I just we could see more great games come out on the iPad.

Great implementation

Of an outstanding game. I've got the original History of the World. This up is just right for when I've got 20 minutes to spate.

First class, fast moving game.

A delight to play!

Great Game

Although most electronic board games aren't very amusing this one is a lot of fun. It's not one of those over done games either. It is mostly basic and easy to play. I would certainly recommend anyone interested to get the app.

Excellent implementation

30+ year boardgamer, heavy iOS user. Played only on iPad Air, with no problems (other than Game Center which seems to never report turns correctly, however is suspect that is Apple's issue). Really enjoyed this one, fast, great async play, an interesting set of decisions each turn. Easily 25+ hours of play online for me, with no issues. A few of the special powers seemed strange, but after a while of play I figured out everything fine and grokked the interface. Considering the return for the developer on a niche title like this, I'd say there is little to complain about if you have a hobby tabletop perspective and come at this looking for that kind of feel and experience. In fact this is as well done as Puerto Rico, La Havre, Tigris, Tikal, etc. Multiplayer even better than those, mostly because of the design of the board game itself however. Non-hobby gamers might gripe about the interface here or there, but this is really a great boardgame, and I am grateful we even have these on iOS. They will never make anyone a lot of money on iOS or in physical form (a best selling physical boardgame might sell 5,000 copies!), so considering they are mostly a labor of love, I'm very happy. Serious designer/euro/German-style/hobby gamers will find this to be a strong offering.

Replayable board game

A few small quirky bugs mar an otherwise enjoyable, engrossing game. Intelligent AI.

Fun game.

Too many confirmations required, but still a fun game. Loses one star for bugs.

Excellent App!

I love that hobby board games are getting such awesome representations in digital format. This is not the classic HotW, if you played the original Avalon Hill game - this is essentially the second edition of that game, and it is great! If you played the old board game, or are looking for a game like Risk with more strategic depth, check this out!
