AWRP: A Worse Route Plannner

On a road trip and trying to use this app on iPhone and iPad and on the website, and the app no longer seems to reliably create route plans like it used to. It won’t route trips anymore including simple two point routes, instead displaying a spinning icon and never resulting in a route. Occasionally I get a route to display, but then any changes or refreshes take a really long time to update. The UI was and is one of the worst of any app I have used, but at least it used to provide some decent functionality, value and usefulness. Now it’s just useless…

Such a helpful tool

No doubt, could be a cleaner interface, but you can do so much with this app. It’s waypoints for your Tesla, it’s critical when towing a trailer. Don’t travel without it. I am really grateful for the time developing this app-can’t believe it’s free.

Crashes when trying to view charger info

Crashes when trying to view charger info by tapping on Tesla charger icons on map. Unable to see what speed charger it has planned. Can’t give more than 1 star when the whole reason someone would use this app is to plan charging waypoints.

UI is in dire need of improvement

The core service here is good and this remains a must-have app for EV owners, but the UI Is barely useable and often totally unusable, requiring frequent force quits. Simple things like page scrolling barely work in many cases. I look forward to future improvements. Also, for an app that claims to support most EVs, my EV (a Kia Niro which had been for sale for years) is not included in their list. With some attention this will become an excellent app but it is not there yet.

Can’t even select my vehicle.

Web or mobile app won’t let me select my vehicle. Settings icon does not work either. Needs some serious UX work. Was really hoping to be able to use this app.

No connection to Apple Watch.

The app itself is working ok, however I never got the connection to Apple Watch to work I premium version.

Crazy Illogical Routes

I don’t know how this app makes decisions but it’s supposed “routes” are nuts. For instance, if I ask it for a route for a Chevy Bolt from Pheonix, AZ to Montrose, CO it wants to route me all the way North to Rte 70, which then requires another 60 minutes to get South to Montrose. Worse yet, this route has distances so close to max range that the app has me going 3 hours with the warning “Fo not exceed 45mph”! If I try to “force” a more logical route through NM and Cortez, CO, it then wants sends me on a completely pointless trip West from Cortez just to charge enough to get… back to Cortez… If I put Durango as an intermediate stop instead, it does the same, except it wants to send me East to Pagosa Springs, to charge just enough to get back to Durango. An app that just showed charging stations would be much preferable to this pointless “trips just to charge to get back where you started” game.

After downloading the app, I couldn’t even get past the incredibly messy and unclear registration process. To be frank, I refuse to waste much time trying to figure out what the developers should make obvious. If it doesn’t mean enough for app developers to take the time to develop a clear and easy way to register and use their apps, then why should I waste time trying to figure out their mess?

Failed During Roadtrip

On my way from Vegas to the Bay- I like to recalculate my route at every charging stop to ensure the fastest route and erase range anxiety. The app usually does so just fine, but right now it’s not letting me plan a route. When I input the car info and the addresses and then I press the blue button, nothing happens. Not sure what’s going on with the ABRP end of all of this but clearly something is wrong.

Used to work well but the last few times I’ve tried to use it the app crashes and force closes as soon as I try to open it. I looked to see if there was an update but no such luck. Please fix this.
