Fantastic Strategy Game – Naval Tactics Review

I’ve been a long-time fan of Starbase Orion, and Chimera Software has done it again with Naval tactics. While NT is a completely differnet type of game (SO is focused on building your empire with combat limited to giving simple orders that are carried out behind the scenes) while NT is all about the combat. There are a number of differnet mission types: 1v1, 1v1v1, 2v2, 3v3, merchant escort (protect or destroy the merchants), and Sink the Pirate, as well as a couple of missions based on real historical battles. The game is simple enough to be accessible to anyone who enjoys strategy games, but deep enough that a player will benefit from learning tactics and knowing how to use the wind etc to their benefit. I expect a vibrant, dedicated community for online play the same as SO has had for a long time.
