Don't quite understand – Puzzling Rush Review

I understand it's a match 3 battle type game, but I don't understand what all the symbols mean and how they affect the gameplay. It doesn't seem to matter anyway because I keep winning just by matching whatever symbols I choose. I took a gamble and bought it, but now I kind of regret it.
