This would make it a 5 star app! – DirectVR Lite Remote for DirecTV Review

I understand its just not possible to control the volume on a non wifi tv, bc our phones don't have an infrared beam. However, as I'm sure you're aware, infrared is not necessary to control the volume on a smart tv. It can be done via wifi, in the same way this remote app works thru the wifi in the DTV boxes. I have a separate remote app for my smart tv, which controls all of the tv functions, but none of the DTV functions. It would be much more practical using 1 app to control everything. I understand designing an app w/ that kind of functionality would mean a lot more work going into it, & could possibly even mean making several apps for different brands of smart tv's, but at the same time, I know I'd be willing to pay more for 1 remote app capable of controlling both my tv & my DTV box. I'm sure others would as well.
