Vacation meds what a mess (0-1 star) – Walmart: Shopping & Savings Review

We recently was going on vacation for 3 weeks. We called ahead for authorization to fill early. We also got authorization (actually a new script) from our MD. Script was for 60 Hydrocodone in my husbands name. It had the same date as mine and it was filled. We did the same process for my refill of 120 and wax denied. We were going to Hawaii. There you cannot transfer a narcotic, you cannot provide a hand carried script. We were told by head pharmacist we were out of luck as Walmart has a policy. As I said, the MD cleared the early refill. The insurance cleared it but not Walmart. I finally had to have a friend pick it up and bring it to Hawaii. What if no one had of been coming? We were only about 4 days early. There should have been some way the pharmacist could have considered the circumstances. There is a legitimate reason I get them, it’s called real pain! This better not happen again or I may need to consider changing pharmacies. This mess was very unnecessary.
