Pretty Good – Remeasure: Progress Tracker Review

This app pretty much does what I’m looking for which is to track my measurements (all my measurements) without having to set a goal. I have no idea what my goal “should” be because I have no idea what my body size should be. The fact that goal setting isn’t a requirement in this app is wonderful and I can just track my progress (the charts and beginning/end trackers are amazing) until I decide I’m where I want to be at. I think what’s great about this app, too, is the health bars at the bottom of the page. I really like that this app doesn’t rely on BMI because this can be unreliable health measurement — in fact, you can disable it completely. This app take into account a lot of different health indicators, such as body frame, waist circumference, and waist-to-height ratio. Because of the app I learned that I have a large body frame, which means I’m probably going to be OK shooting for the higher end of the healthy weight range for my height. I had no idea what a healthy weight goal for my body type would be and now I have a better idea of that. Overall, this is a wonderful full app. I did take off two stars because of how cumbersome it is to use. You have to scroll through the measurement tapes to get to you correct measurement. It’s a little more confusing because you have one tape that measures inches in increments of 12 (0, 12, 24, 36) and then you add on how many inches you are to your closest measurement. For instance, if you weight is 29.75 you would have to scroll to the 24 mark in the top measuring tape and then add on 5.75 inches to get to the correct measurement. I get how this makes sense. People should be able to match up the marks on their tapes to get to the right mark. But it’s also a lot of math and it’s super easy to mess up. It took me FOREVER to take my measurements because I didn’t realize I was adding 2.5 instead of 3.5. It would be great if there was an option to be able to type in measurements, too. It just takes a lot of time.
