From a students perspective [PLEASE READ] – Google Classroom Review

During my Sophomore, and partially during my Junior years of high school, this app had been my main source of school work and resources. It works well in a sense that all of your classes can be separated and have different students within each individual class, but it has its own flaws which is the prime reason for this review. Google Classroom has been, and still is, one of the most unorganized resources I have ever had my hands on. While all of my classes may be separated, the work, materials, and announcements are all mixed together in each individual class, creating a huge stressor for any student that is attempting to look for their work or resources. Another major issue is the fact that it can be used at any time of day by the teachers. Students love to go home and relax, knowing that they are free from any burdens school may bring to their daily routine. It is a time for us to rest and prepare for the next day. Very few students actually want to be at school, and we only go because we fear the consequences of not going. If we are honest with ourselves, we will all realize that our time could be better spent learning something useful that will help us in our future lives. Allowing the teachers to send out work or announcements in the middle of the night, when we should be resting, has created a lot of stress amongst my personal friends and acquaintances. I believe restricting the times teachers are allowed to send out notifications would limit this stress and make Google Classroom an overall less-hated application. Perhaps taking into consideration the operating hours of each campus could help get such a system up and running. Google is one of the largest tech giants that I can think of, and they certainly have the funds to get such info for themselves. A lot of people mention a folder for Missing Assignments being nonexistent in this app, which is true as far as I’ve seen. If our teachers ask us to turn in what we are missing, how do you expect us to find it? With some of the loading issues Google Classroom tends to have, it’s nothing more than a burden to scroll through all of our assignments Just to find a single piece of missing work. That’s all I’ve got for now, since it’s getting late and I’m tired, but Google, if you see this and genuinely care about your consumers, please consider some of my suggestions.
