Love the app! Highly recommend! – Duolingo - Language Lessons Review

Love this app. I’ve noticed a tremendous difference in the way that I read and understand Spanish. I feel like I have learned a lot over the past 40 days since I’ve been using the app, compared to day one I feel like I know a pretty good amount now. My only complaint with the app is that I feel like if you get majority of the sentence correct and only miss one word or happen to misspell something you should get partial credit instead of getting completely marked wrong. Sometimes seeing the little red bar at the bottom for small errors like spelling can be discouraging. Yes, I understand that in the actual language itself, the spelling (or misspelling) of one thing can mean something totally different but for the sake of learning, seeing red can sometimes “scare” or discourage a new learner to a language. Especially if the mistake in question is something as simple as missing “the” at the beginning of the sentence. Or using a word interchangeably. Otherwise this app is really fun and the way that the activities tie into daily life, conjugations and pictures of the words, it makes learning a new language very seamless. I’ve noticed that now I can see or hear Spanish speaking somewhere else outside of the app and my brain automatically translates familiar words. Definitely recommend! (Fwiw , I have the plus version).
