Notifications are not correct for my area – AccuWeather: Weather Alerts Review

As of a few weeks ago, I’ve started getting notifications of winter snow storm warnings in my area when the forecast is for overcast and 45 degrees. The snow level is about an hour’s drive away. My notification settings are set for my location only. It alarms me when I see the warnings, but then check the local forecast and see that it’s not the case. Now it’s just annoying. I’ve turned off notifications.
