Apple Nike Watch 2 killed – Nike Run Club: Running Coach Review

Why remove the Nike Run app from the dedicated Apple Nike Watch 2 and not just leave it working with previous working app and let those with newer devices update for newer features. I don’t need newer features, just provide basic run tracking (distance, pace [minutes per mile])? Why buy Nike watch if at any time it may no longer be supported?
