Came back to Guns of Boom after 3 years… – Guns of Boom Review

I started playing Guns of Boom in 2017 and loved it from day one. It was much simpler then, and there was just one meta gun in each of the four categories that cost gold, but otherwise, it was very playable. However, the game started to lose me as they brought new things to the game, causing it to become more pay or grind to win. With newer, better meta changing guns and armor being introduced all the time. I left the game in frustration in 2019, but I would check back every six months or so. To make it worse, they changed the game to Gods of Boom and altered many of the classic aspects of the game. It also got very complicated with new additions. However, it looks like the game has made one of the greatest comebacks in mobile gaming. First, the devs really listened and changed the game back to classic guns of boom. Even the latest update rebalanced the four gun classes and fixed the shotgun-knife glitch. Second, the game was able to keep some newer, helpful modes and additions, while at the same simplifying the game to feel less complicated. They found the best of both worlds. Third, they reduced the pay to win or grind to win aspects of the game by giving more free resources, making the battle pass cheaper, giving blueprint pieces in the battle pass for whatever item you prefer, allowing you to save battle coins anytime for the fair, adding drones to bring you resources and blueprints, and special events with resources. Fourth, they balanced enough of the new guns and armor so that there is a good variety of choices to vainly use, and they continue to work on balancing. Finally, it doesn’t hurt that they even upgraded graphics to make them even more detailed. I have tried to come back to the game a number of times over the past 2-3 years, but this time felt different. I personally feel like the game is at its best point yet. If you haven’t tried it yet, or like myself, you left for a long while, give it another chance and see what has changed. Very few devs and games out there are willing to make a comeback like this!
