Little Annoyances Add up – Albert: Budgeting and Banking Review

I had signed up to use the cash advance feature with my Varo Bank account. It worked well enough for that, until I got an offer for $75 for having my paycheck sent directly to Albert. The app can’t recognize my pay check switching to Albert from Varo and they turned off my access to the advance feature. For an app trying to get me to pay it for financial advice, that seems like a kind of dumb thing to do to me. I had to ping their customer service twice before I got the $75 they promised me. Customer service is via text and not US based, a bit annoying to deal with. They do not deposit pay as quickly as Varo either. I always have my direct deposit by 4pm with Varo, albert made it available at some point over night. The remaining features of the app all seem kind of useless and queer to me. I am not sure why anyone would use any of it.
