Great Discounts & Soars Over Competitors Yet Not Perfect – CVS Pharmacy Review

I’ve been a huge fan of CVS many years. I always used to fill prescriptions but in 2019 after randomly signing up for ExtraCare, I realized how much you can actually save. Like, to the point it’s awesome. I’m getting Essie nail polishes for $3-4 and a ton of free stuff. I wanted to share the knowledge so decided to write a review because I think I’ve saved almost $600 in discounts YTD. Ok, so you have to sign up probably for CVS site then add a free ExtraCare account. Once you have signed up you click your ExtraCare tab on the app and then Coupons & Savings. You add the coupons like you would a grocery store and when you check out they are applied. As all coupons they expire, so pay attention. Some coupons are specific to your account and I’ll explain. If you spend $30 on Beauty you receive in $3 in ExtraBucks (EB) rewards. In my experience you don’t have to ‘add’ these types of coupons to your account on the app, you are promoted in store or online to add if you want to use them. I prefer checking out at the kiosks in store so I can visually see the transaction and don’t miss rewards due to the cashier maybe not applying. There are also other promos I.e. a recent one for personal care items vs. beauty items, but the payout was higher or $10 EBs for spending $30. Next, the products have promos. For example, there’s a $5 off $12 of a well known brand and I used it at least 3 times during Christmas. Which means I also received the $3 credit due spending $30. I swek manufactures that are offering promos because I’ll usually receive $ off plus get EBs back. In addition you get 2% in ALL purchases back, which isn’t a lot but you add it to all of the above. Not finished! Multiple times monthly I receive rewards for other coupons like $10 off $50 or $4 off $20. You must add these coupons to your account and they expire pretty quickly. I try to wait for all the above to almost expire and I’ll usually receive one of these in my inbox. I recently spent 45 on over a 135 purchase with all the discounts. I recommend shopping in store vs online due to all the delays and more importantly it’s easier to get missing EBs back in store. Definitely keep track of your rewards. Good luck and happy shopping!
