The free app is far better – Babbel - Language Learning Review

Babel’s lessons are just listen and repeat. Very rudimentary and not conducive to actually learning how to use a language, just how to memorize phrases. It also does not have many options for more advanced learners. It’s very expensive too. Duolingo offers an extensive and well designed Spanish course with tons more options, all for free.
