I want to like it – Gold and Goblins: Idle Games Review

I really want to like this game. The developers do some really awesome stuff, they listen to player feedback and implement quality of life changes. The game is nice to play here and there through out the day and it has a nice and clean graphics style… But that is about where the good ends. I had to play for an ENTIRE year without spending a single gem in order to save up enough of them to purchase the largest of the 3 chests you can get in the game. And that is WITH purchasing the ad free pack (which is 15 dollars, that’s insane). On top of that the largest chest is 3500 gems, which the 19.99 dollar gem pack(2500 gems) is too low for and the one just after that is 49.99 (6500 gems) and isn’t enough to get two of them which leaves you with just enough to incentivize you to spend some more money so you can get another one. It’s all a grimy money scheme. On top of that, the largest chest only got me ONE gold card. So you’re going to spend 50 bucks or play for a year without spending a single gem and get practically NOTHING for it. And you NEED to spend money of you want to even get close to completing one of their events, and those cards/money disappear after the event is over. To make things even worse, this company is one of those companies that advertises their game with those ads that show “gameplay” that isn’t even part of their game. I’ve seen the “harvester vehicle” ad and a few others so many times it’s sickening. And false advertisement.
