Honest Review: African Americans - You may want to reconsider – Salams: Where Muslims Meet Review

I give it 4 stars because I believe it’s a good app as long as the sisters have a wali who is aware of them using the app, and the wali is vigilant when it comes to monitoring who the sister talks to. Men tend to be creepier than women; that’s just a fact. There are plenty of users on here and yes some are serious, but some are just seeking validation and an ego boost, so it would be best to ask the serious questions up front instead of wasting time and emotions on “favorite colors” and “favorite movies”. Compatibility is important, so I can understand asking these questions, but I would ask those type of questions after the serious questions to avoid getting attached to someone for absolutely nothing. It’s just unnecessary pain if it doesn’t work out. On the other hand, as an African American male, I’ve been on and off this app for some years now and I’m fully convinced this app isn’t for African Americans or Reverts the way social influencers say it is. I’ve matched with plenty of Desi and Arab sisters and it’s the same story, just a different profile (“My parents are traditional.”) I’ve even read a couple of reviews where sisters complained about the app because they only wanted to see Desi and Arab, but they kept seeing and attracting “other” guys (I’m assuming they mean black people). There are a small amount of “other” users active but my guess, based on swiping, is the majority of the users are 70-75% Desi and Arab and they do not believe in “free mixing,” and you can’t change someone’s preferences. They have a right to want who they want. So in summary, great app, but if you’re black - my brother or sister - seek some other options. There are other options out there. In my opinion, I still believe it should be called what it actually is. ?????? - ?? ???? ??????????? ??? @the.humble.mumin
