Story, action, crafting and more… – Eternium Review

Eternium is an interesting and deep approach to RPG gaming. While the battle system seems simplistic, it does have depth when you consider the variety of combinations across three classes of characters. There is also a deep crafting system which I have only scratched the surface of. However, what is sorely lacking are puzzles. Since nothing appears to be procedurally created, the maps are going to dry up. Yes, the art is very well done, you have quests to accomplish, but things get repetitive quickly and it becomes about grinding out gold and gems. I have not grown tired of it, yet. Originally, I gave this game 1 star since it froze up on every device I had with fresh installs. It seems this was fixed pretty quickly as I am sure the patch that broke some elements crushed many players’ games. Customer Service was pretty quick to get back to me and I am confident had multiple players sending them pleas for help. Dev eventually tracked something down and fixed the issue. Original title of review and text below. Suffice it to say, this game needs puzzles beyond how to combat the big monsters. Perhaps I will upgrade my stars in the future when I dig deeper into crafting. From a 30k foot level perspective though, all crafting does is get you better stuff to play whack a mole on the very artistic playfields. For now, 3 stars. I wonder if they will give me my gems now for doing a review. Hmmm. Game freezes after 15-30 seconds… I have been playing the game for a few hours over a few days and now the game freezes very quickly. I uninstalled, reinstalled. Even tried to start a new character, but can hardly start before it freezes. Multiple restarts of device. The odd thing is it does it on my old iPad and new iPad. Looks like a bug to me. Was having fun too.
