Not consistent working – Universal remote tv smart Review

I have a 43” TCL Flat Screen ROKU tv. It works less than it works. I have always made sure that my device (iPhone 13) and television are on the same network. Network always match. Distance from iPhone to TCL TV 12’ to 6’ . Just doesn’t make the connection. The app shows the name of the tv on my phone but just isn’t making a connection most of the time.
