VPN caused Siri and Carplay to stop – My Data Manager VPN Security Review

Took 4 hours and multiple calls to Apple. They helped figure it out. When iphone connected to carplay. The vpn inside MyData app caused siri to not read text messages and not connect links in calendar. Message was Siri needs an internet connection on carplay. Figured out - shutoff VPN in the app itself. Problem solved. This was very hard to distinguish and sort out that the app was the whole cause and trouble. It used to work fine then this happened.
