confused – HOPE Spirit Box Review

i’ve watched the videos and everything and i can not get mine to work. i set it up hit record and then try to go listen to it and nothing is there just says waiting on a recording. i’ve deleted and reloaded 3 times. i really want to use this and see if i can communicate with my momma or grandma or 2 sisters. any suggestions or help from anyone??
