Alarmingly boring – Crime War Review

The game has some interesting concepts, like managing a criminal empire, but the execution is poor. The quality of the game would have been disappointing ten years ago. The game feels like a late nineties web browser game: sloppy art, user unfriendly interactions, and huge abstraction to what your empire is actually doing. If the game was intending to use a planner-book as its interface, it should have been easier to navigate, more pleasant to look at and more explanatory of its functions. I had no idea what the stats really did or what benefit recruiting gang members actually provided. Maybe if you are willing to hack through it further than a half hour you will find something worth playing. A free game that provided no hook in thirty minutes probably isn't worth investigating that much into, though.
