Big mistake – Greyhound (US) Review

I have not taken any long distance public transit for decades. But since I became disabled and aging at age 67, I had to visit some relatives in Spark, Nevada. It took a while b fore I can book myself online, a whole day. I never been to the new bus depot in San Francisco so I left early to get my ticket for the mornings departure to Reno. The GPS pointed me where to board my bus. Greyhound also directed me to a he address. I got there two hours before departure but could not locate the address or the bus stop. I repeatedly asked the greyhound service and kept checking the GPS map as well. I did not see any sign anywhere running back and forth looking for the depot. I was in front of the address but no greyhound bus. After an hour and a half circling the area on foot with my luggage, running not walking, I built up a sweat and was soaked. I never knew that I had to go thru a half a block of building maze and take the el vat or to the third floor in able to board the bus. I got there on time but the bus driver said he would not allow me to board without ticket. I did not know that I have to get back to the elevator, once I find it, and go to the counter to get my ticket. The agent printed the prepaid ticket but did not issue a luggage tag. The driver refused to let me board without the liggage tag. I ran back to the agent window forgetting to take my luggage next to the bus at the stop. I ignored my heart condition and my exhaustion. And ran back to the bus stop not finding the bus. It left me stranded. I patiently an back to ask where do I go from there. The agent said to come back after five hours and he will discount my ticket. It only took me half hour to get back to the depot but waited an hour, the agent was on lunch. It is as nice to know that I can still get to my destination that same day. Then he called me to the window to rewrite my ticket. That bus I was about to take would only be to Sacramento. The direct bus to Spark was not until the next morning. greyhound can not afford to compensate my struggle and efforts I did that day. Guess what tho, they do not give out refunds blaming me for being late. My anger was out of the chart. The only way I could release my rmotional stress was to cause a big commotion that I cloud not deliver, not at my age, condition and exhaustion. I repeatedly requested for a refund they claim 20% deduction that takes 90 days but never happened. 11 months passed this July, that whole emotional stress and mental strain is as painful reminder asking for my refund or another ticket. They ignore to care for elderly, disabled seniors without a drop of sympathy or thought of offering some compensation, even to show kindness. That nightmare had stuck to me all year and will probably linger indefinitely. Even until now, Greyhound company have not attended to relieve me any offer, only to send me advertising’s on my email, reminding and inviting me to use them again totally ignored my nightmare experience that left an unhealed wound. I will continue to request my refund while I give my review hoping to regain the refund. I have a very low income and that amount was a big value to me.
