The frustration is still present – Reason Compact - Make Music Review

For whatever reasons the devs that worked on Figure are definitely not working on this. From day one I have hated the auto save method for projects. I have to create a new duplicate project just incase I edit it to far or if I accidentally move some notes or just want to try different note progressions without having to remember what it was originally. How is this considered a way to allow for forward progressive thinking? There is still no swing function, no real mixer and auto-save saves your volume levels of each instrument and if you’re Ableton linking with another tempo controlled app the tempo gets saved because you decided that auto save was a great idea. Same goes for scales. Please get rid of auto save. Backwards way to work. I’ve never had the app crash so good job there and that makes the idea of auto save or any benefit from it relevant. It only hampers the creative process. I feel like basic octave up and octave down for “locked” unpaid synths should be included free because scale octaves don’t even line up with Figure’s scale settings. On compact, the B scale is a whole octave higher than it is on Figure. Why is there a delay audio gap at the beginning of the loop when exporting sound wav files???????? I have to now guess where the loop actually starts when cutting it? I prefer exporting individual synths and this gap makes it a pain. What if your loop doesn’t have an active note till the second bar? Blind cutting loops….this is 2021. I’m not even going to discuss the swiping to adjust parameters and also swiping to switch pages…… just fix it. Devs, try using the app for a few days syncing with other iOS programs, try exporting wav files and loading them into other programs, try matching scales to other apps, try going between several projects adjusting volumes and making backups. It’s been years….. and it’s like it never left beta. I considered upgrading to reason 11 for the separate VST rack to use in different DAWs but then I think of this app’s lack of progression and stop myself from buying every time. All of the reasons stated above are why I never paid to unlock the drum machine or monotone which then meant not purchasing the additional sound kits for both.
