Hmm... – Lume HD Review

Let me start with the good: this game is beautiful and charming, and has spectacular potential. However, I'm not going to lie... I currently feel like I've been cheated or scammed, even if (or even though) there is going to be more gameplay added on to the game in the future. I don't doubt that this sort of development takes painstakingly long to complete, and the little I've seen thus far is very well done. But I finished the game after less than 15 minutes of gameplay, yet I paid $3 for it, which is comparatively in the mid-to-higher price range in the App Store. Someone who pays $3 for an app has expectations, and although its beautiful, this game is severely lacking in material. Actually, when I got to the end so quickly, I kind of thought it was a joke or teaser for a second. And when I realized it wasn't, I got significantly annoyed. The $3 price tag is a pretty audacious move when you take into account the amount (or lack thereof) of material/gameplay it contains... Instead, it should probably have gone one of two ways: either hold off on the release until there are several chapters made (or at least an hour's worth of gameplay) and charge this much upon its release, or release this current "peek preview" version for free to get people excited, then start charging when more material gets added. But charging $3 right off the bat without a clear heads-up in the description about what little I'm getting makes me feel scammed and removes any trust I had in the developers. And so, for now, I'll just keep my fingers crossed in hopes that more gameplay actually *does* get added (and that the project doesn't fall through like so many often do) and hope that this update comes sooner rather than later... I am looking forward to it.
