Interesting app that's needs some fixing – Actable Review

Tried the app based on it being featured in Smithsonian magazine. Lots of griping from others about the videos not loading. Mine loaded fine but needed a WiFi connection. When I went to the far end of the house to show it to my wife the weaker WiFi signal slowed down the video downloads. As someone else mentioned, when the video is merely a non-interactive clip you can tap on the video and it will run like any other clip. Things get twitchy when the video is interactive with the page of (in this case) the magazine. I had had to keep the camera pointed at the page, but that was part of the point with the front cover of the magazine. The various images popped out from the page as though emerging from the magazine. At one point the magazine "turned into" an ancient scroll that I could turn and twist to see the sides, etc. as the video images were synced with my movements of the magazine. That obviously won't work if you're not pointing the camera at the magazine. So yes, it's twitchy but the concept is really cool and not bad for a first go. And for crying out loud, it's FREE.
