Does 1Thing & Does It Well – XnShape Review

I think the negative reviews are way off base on this one. It's not complex app, it doesn't have a large catalogue of affects, and I can't see this becoming a go-to at for anybody for a photo editor. It simply puts a grid like overlay in different shapes, with different colors and gradation of both size and contrast onto an existing photograph. You can control various parameters of the effect, including the shapes of the cells in the filter, shading, intensity of effect, colors etc. And the reviewer who said that they lost their subject in the middle of the effect, you can control and tone down the effect so that it's almost exactly like the original picture, all the way to something that looks like a tiled mosaic… and lots in between. So that reviewer probably didn't find the slider You certainly wouldn't want this is the only thing in your arsenal. But it's a perfectly charming effect! It creates a mosaic out of any photograph that you have. It's not meant to be a subtle effect, it's meant to be exactly as it presents itself. Full disclosure: when I got it it was free. But now that I know what it does, I'd happily pay a buck or two to have this effect. I like it, and I'll probably use it to make some nice mosaic style images. I can using it with other photo apps, the same way I use various drawing/painting apps with each other, and ditto for music apps.
