A Once Great Game with Many Issues – Tomb of the Mask Review

I'm sure there's nothing new I could say that can't already be said about the annoying amount of ads this game pushes for other, largely mediocre games, but otherwise my current biggest issue with Tomb of the Mask is that I've managed to amass 54 shields as of this writing, but can't use any of them. The section in the Shop tab says I've maxed out my shields, and yet the game continues to reward them to me with regular frequency. I'm not sure whether or not it's because I've been playing this game since before it switched to the greedy subscription-based power-ups and ads-before-playability format when it got bought out by Playgendary, but apart from the time-consuming ad-breaks, not being able to use any shields has significantly diminished the enjoyment of a game I used to highly recommend to people.
