Good but could be so much better if... – Widgetsmith Review

I wish the widgets actually DID something. I’d love to create a widget that opens my contacts app or any app for that matter. It’s great to have lots of nice pictures on my screen, but I’d like to be able to tap the picture and have it act as a shortcut. I’ve tried setting one of the widgets up as a shortcut, and it says what I want it to say and will supposedly link to the app to open it, but it doesn’t work. I can tap on the widget all day, but it never opens. I want my smartphone to be functional not just look pretty (gee, what a novel idea).
