Definitely not what it claims to be – BILL Spend & Expense (Divvy) Review

I have seen Divvy all over the internet, several of their sales reps have reached out to us several times, and they are plastered everywhere - so I figured I would look into them and try them out. I think the account setup process took a little longer than I would have liked, might have been due to COVID tho so I won't fault them for it. It took almost 2 months to set up our account, and I sent several follow-ups to check in on progress with little to no updates sent back. Their online application portal struggled a ton too. Not a big deal, I understand these are difficult times. Biggest Downfall: They claim to have been around for a while, but most of the staff seems clueless, and every single employee says something different when asked the same question. It seems very... unorganized? I would say the biggest surprise and shock that I discovered today is that this is a CHARGE CARD in which the full balance must be paid off every month, with no exceptions. Nowhere on the website does it say this information, and I was told differently in an email conversation with a rep before my account was opened that this is a credit card and that carried balances were okay/allowed. They even show an interest rate if I recall in my onboarding paperwork, which I was never sent a copy of, so what is the point of an interest rate if the balance is required to be paid monthly? There is a major difference between a charge card, and a credit card... (Charge cards generally require that you pay off the full amount you spend on the card each month. Credit cards only require that you pay off some minimum amount of the total balance you owe each month.) Their website, and everywhere they promote advertises this as a CREDIT CARD so it was a major surprise to discover this is actually a charge card as none of their marketing mentions a charge card or that balances must be paid in full each month anywhere. I think this is deceptive and misleading for someone looking for a genuine credit card. It was a major surprise and shock to discover this is a charge card. I like the idea behind the card, and the online features are okay, but these surprises are a major turn off for us. Also, I could not find this disclaimer anywhere on their site as well, but the rewards mentioned for using their card only kick in when you use 30% of your credit line each month. They do have good customer service tho, and quick support. When I chatted with them on live chat about this concern I discovered, I had a quick follow-up call from the agent that provided the incorrect information, apologizing for the mistake. Though I appreciated the company taking responsibility for the mistake and misleading information, it still does not resolve or address my major concern with this account. In Summary: I would recommend them, but only to the right person/company. I think by offering a charge card, they limit their customer base quite a bit. American Express has even limited their offerings for charge cards as they just aren't as desired anymore. At this point, we decided to close the account today and are extremely disappointed and feel very mislead by the marketing and sales of this account to us. You will enjoy this card 100% if you're okay with a charge card. If you're looking for a credit card in which you can carry a balance or have flexibility as needed, or want to earn rewards easier, this might not be the card for you. Also, I wish I would have noticed that most of the positive reviews on Facebook were done on the same day/week (likely by employees) likely would have been something I would have taken into consideration.
