Beautiful – StrandOrgan Review

Very good samples of a gorgeous pipe organ with real ambiance of the chapel. The stops are very responsive and combine perfectly for wide variety of sound textures given the the relatively simple configuration of this particular instrument. Close your eyes and it is easy to imagine you are playing the real deal. The stock setup is the highest quality of sound, however polyphony needs to be used judiciously to prevent note dropouts and slight popping in the audio. Well thought programming offers several reverb options and even a setting to load a smaller sample rate of the whole instrument which gives much more polyphony at differing sound quality levels. The default setup sounds SO good, I prefer to simplify my playing to keep the high quality...nice to have the options, though. The demos are impeccably played with traditional tunes hand can help you choose the sound quality settings required for your style of playing. The photos of the church and the keyboard and the stops and several angles of the pipes are wonderful. I use the Alesis io Dock and an old Roland clone-wheel midi keyboard and have used this app live as an impromptu introduction to my band's last gig. The guitar player finally admitted that the iPad is a real instrument and not just a toy. I am very anxious to try out the other instruments offered by this developer.
