DO NOT PAY FOR UPGRADED VERSION! – Lockscreen & Homescreen Widget Review

I’m able to create beautiful widgets using photos of my choice for the background. The trouble is, they do not work. The widget can only be added to the Home Screen using the stock background shown, or any color I choose from the options available. Adding a photo does nothing but look good within app and I cannot make it show when the widget is added to the Home Screen. There also seems to be an option to delete the background, which I believed should allow your wallpaper to show through and create a floating effect for the displayed information, but this also appears not to work either and only results in a solid white background. This is on an iPhone 11 running iOS 14.2 and I paid for the upgraded version of the app. For now I have rated the app 3 stars and emailed the developer and await a reply. I will update this review once this issue is resolved. UPDATE - the app developer emailed me back saying to remove the widget from the Home Screen and then re-add it. I had already done that however, and it still did not work. After some more time passed I tried it again and it finally worked on my iPhone 11, but it still does not work on my wife’s iPhone 11. Also I have noticed twice now that the clock will stop counting time for about 10 minutes and then it will catch up some time later. The developer said this was due to iOS not updating the app on my phone. UPDATE - the app developer acknowledged the issues in a follow up email and said they would be fixed on an app update coming in a couple of days (their words). It’s been over 2 weeks since then and the time keeping issue still persists and no app update has been made available yet. I removed the widget from my Home Screen since it takes up valuable space and serves no purpose, but I kept the app on my phone while waiting for the update since I paid for it. But without an update it is useless to me since the clock is the main use for this app. Without that there is no need to keep it, and I’m tired of waiting so I’m just going to delete it. The developer response shown below this review is the initial response given before I received the first email. The issues I described are still there.
