Let’s see... – adidas Running: Walk & Run App Review

No website with useful analytics. No ability to create routes anymore (this is a surprising find with the new changes). Only four statistic categories for all activities. If you were going eliminate all the other freestanding apps, you should have allowed stats to be programmable to activities. Now we have to toggle over the stats every time we select an activity. If we still had the road cycling and mountain biking apps, we wouldn’t have to concern ourselves with the statistics fields. Those apps were specific to those activities; one app doesn’t fit all activities. I don’t mind the new color, I actually like it. I do like Adidas; but I do like an app’s shortcut icon that will simply tell me what it is for and not what it’s selling. I don’t care to see “Adidas” as the name for the app on my phone. When I look for an app on my phone I want to see it and it’s purpose clearly so I can identify it quickly from the other apps. I miss the running man in the app shortcut. Runtastic has best interface of all apps I have tried. Seems so few offer satellite view. Another reason I don’t care for other fitness apps is their overt branding. Ex: Under Armour’s Run, Ride, Walk, etc apps. Top much. Too generic looking. I do like most of the changes otherwise. The share function works very nice. All considered, I can’t justify investing anymore money on a company that trashed just about everything I paid for; functionality is lost just enough. I’ve picked up Cyclemeter now.
