Useless & Offensive – NOAA Radar Pro: Weather Alerts Review

Note: This is a review covers 60 seconds with this app. The moment of launch plus one minute... At 0 seconds from launch, a full-screen “Upgrade Now!” ad pops up requiring me to check one of two boxes. Check the first box to buy their upgrade, check the second box to “continue”. This second option is actually fake. It’s purpose is to trick users who don’t want to upgrade into believing “continue” will just open the app. But it takes you to the same upgrade purchase. The intent is for the user to believe the only way through this screen is to buy an upgrade. I eventually found a tiny “x” in a corner of the screen, which took me to the app. @ 30 seconds, I gave the app permission to access my gps data, from which it pinpointed my location on a map. The app then reported my location, incorrectly, with multiple advertisements popping up continuously in every area of the screen, and reported the outside temperature as 72°, when it was 47°. @ 50 seconds, I recalled the fact that I already bought the upgrade I’m being pressured so desperately to buy, and realized I just threw away 60 seconds of my life. I’d like to think I repurposed that lost minute by committing 15 more to creating this review.
