Not “entertainment.” Eases life with medical challenges. Thank you so much for this app! – Is it dark outside? Review

Throughout my long medical journey, I’ve dealt with a lot of horrors. This app helped me. This app is labeled as entertainment, but it is so much more than that. I used this service first as a website, then was elated when it became an app. It is so useful in so many medical situations, which is so important in times where the world is facing medical challenges of their own. When I was in windowless hospital rooms, this helped me relate to people who left those rooms and saw the sun. It also helps me in my home hospital bed for those same social connections, as I’m bedbound and can’t see the sun from my home hospital bed (or tolerate much light). This tool helps me battle medical challenges, has in the past, and hopefully will benefit others in similar situations, too. It helped to spark lovely, innocent conversation with some people that are important to me. That broke the barrier of “the elephant in the room” of medical challenges, opening the door to me for additional pleasant, non-medical, and stress-free conversations with those people. I am so grateful that this app let me hold onto some social connections by providing me a light topic to discuss that I otherwise wouldn’t know of. This app opened up some opportunities to discuss what most humans have as simple, calm commonalities to chat about: seasonal changes in day and night. That has and continues to lead to similarly-serene conversations and building comfortable conversations, all as I battle medical difficulties. Thank you for an app that allows me to build lovely relationships with some people I’m close to, regardless of my health. I hope others can experience that, too. When I had to be blindfolded due to light sensitivity, this app shared sunrise and sunset. It instantly detects that, along with when it will be light and dark, regardless of geographic location (which changed as I travelled for medical reasons). With this app, I could save myself pain from light sensitivity. It allowed me to easily know when to set an alarm to put my blindfold on before sunrise and another to take it off at sunset. It allowed me to simply and independently manage my light sensitivity, when I otherwise would have had to rely on others. Independence is such a gift when you face medical ordeals that limit it. Thank you for that, too! Thank you for so much: for calm connections, independence with minimal pain, and for doing that all in a free app. I wanted to thank those who made this app and its website possible. Because of my current situation, I can’t thank you via in-app purchase, but I want thank you all. It seems appropriate to share my thanks here, where you all might see my thanks. Here, perhaps others might notice how helpful this app is for their own medical situations, then use it for the ways it has helped and is helping me. Thank you for everything. I hope this app helps others in their medical battles, too, especially as these trying times cause significant medical challenges for countless people. It really isn’t just an entertainment app: it’s so much more valuable. I am grateful to have used and to currently use this app as a health/utility app. It is wonderful. Thank you so much. To anyone thinking of getting this app, please do. If I could give this app 100 stars, I would.
