Unbalanced game, little to commend it. – Dungeon Keeper Review

Updated review I uninstalled this game. Don’t get it, it’s not worth your time. ——— New review. Recent changes have unbalanced the game to the point where it is very difficult to play. Trolls now do not seek the nearest room but seek traps. I've had trolls walk past the dungeon heart seeking traps, even disabled traps, on the other side resulting in defeats. Traps can also be easily disabled, after certain point the traps hardly do anything at all, they just get disabled or destroyed, and you just have to hope the defense rooms can hold up and often they can't so therefore when you get attacked you're often defeated If you try to upgrade the dark library, while it's upgrading you get no mana, so that also affects her ability to attack for the days that it takes that room to upgrade. The guild rooms now can tell you how many minions someone has donated but it doesn't tell you how many minions they've withdrawn so there's no way to tell if or who is taking a lot of minions. There also still numerous bugs with the software, such as you may have donated minions to your guild and then you go away from the game and then you come back to the game and the timer still acts as if you just donated minions to the guild. Also your guild's rank depends upon you meeting a variety of achievements. A lot of these achievements are based on how many of a particular minion have been donated, however, on occasion you will have hundreds of one minion but nobody wants and you're running out of other minions the people want. There is no way to flush out excess minions people have to pick them out one by one in order to create space so it creates issues with guild management. Also, EA offers frequent promotions to get immortals or imps at a reduced gem cost. This is frustrating if you've already purchased them and there's no opportunity to get a refund or some sort of loyalty bonus. There is little to commend this game anymore I'm reducing my rating from three stars to one star and I'm a level 3 Obsidian. I might also remove this game from my devices due to the unbalanced nature of the gameplay. ------- Old review below ------- I've enjoyed playing the game, the combination of attack and defense has been fun. The problems: 1) The game has frequent crashes and dropped connections in the middle of attacks. This has been frustrating because as the attacker you lose all the minions you deployed, without much opportunity to gain anything. 2) unequal PvP. There have been times that the selection criteria for who I randomly attack has allowed me to attack an obviously lower ranking player, who would have no chance to defeat me. or conversely, put me up against opponents who are so much more advanced that I'd be lucky to get 20% against. 3) PvP rewards, you can "defeat" an attacker, and the only real reward is a trophy or two. You can lose a lot of stone and gold. 4) balance of stone and gold, gold seems to be overly plentiful, but stone is far too unavailable to make the game enjoyable to play. 5) Wall Bombs - I've used them and they've been used against me. They have a place, but they render most designs moot as you never know what angle someone is going to attack and higher levels of the wall bomb make it impossible to really stop any wall bomb attack. 6) Bonuses after a defense. After defending against a raid, you can get the opportunity to see revenge with boosts for seeing the traps and buffing your minions, but for only 1 hour after the attack. This is pointless unless you're immediately informed of the attack. Also, occasionally you will get a cave-in defense for 8 hours, usually after a defend defeat. But honestly, the non-cave-in buffs shouldn't start until after you've logged into the game. With that said, I enjoy the game. It's been fun to play the past few weeks, just a bit rough around the edges.
